Of the 3,080 SARS-CoV-2 tests done in North Macedonia’s laboratories over the past week, 189 came back positive, in 16 cities nationwide, for the airborne virus. Of them, 131 were in Skopje and 50 were confirmed reinfections. And three people were reported to have died from SARS-CoV-2 over the past week, according to the latest weekly report released by the Institute of Public Health.
According to the report, 214 people are currently infected with SARS-CoV-2 nationwide, of whom 138 are in Skopje.
Officially, 194 people recovered from their acute coronavirus infection.
Three people were reported to have died from SARS-CoV-2 over the past week. They were from Skopje, Bitola, and Negotino. They were aged 60 or over and died in hospital, the report says.
Currently hospitalized for SARS-CoV-2 are 25 people.
Since the start of the pandemic, the country’s laboratories have performed a total of 2,186,573 coronavirus tests, officially logging 344,531 SARS-CoV-2 cases, declaring 334,556 recoveries from their acute infections, and confirming 20,882 reinfections.
“Of the reinfections, 26 ended in death.
“Also recorded were the deaths of nine pregnant women and 41 health workers.
“Of the total number of deaths, 851 (8.9%) died in outpatient settings, and 8,730 (91.1%) in hospital conditions,” the report says.
Amid the pandemic, 9,581 people have died in North Macedonia from COVID-19 so far.
According to official figures, 851 of them (8.9%) died at home and 8,730 (91.1%) died in hospital.
